David M. Osborne

David Mundo Osborne is a seasoned politician and entrepreneur with deep roots in Montserrat’s political and maritime history. Born and raised on the island, David received his education both in Montserrat and the United Kingdom, gaining a broad perspective that would serve him well in his future endeavors.
From an early age, David was immersed in the world of politics, learning from his father, Former Chief Minister, John A, Osborne – a respected political leader – who served Montserrat for over four decades. This early exposure to public service instilled in him a strong sense of civic duty and a commitment to his community.
David’s entrepreneurial spirit and love for the sea led him to contribute significantly to Montserrat’s maritime industry. He played a crucial role in helping his father build two of Montserrat’s steel-hulled cargo vessels, the Western Sun and Western Star 2. In 2014, David took command of his own vessel, continuing to serve the shipping and trading needs of Montserrat, further solidifying his connection to the island’s economy and people.
Beyond his maritime pursuits, David is known for his passion for motorsports, particularly motorcycles, showcasing his adventurous spirit and technical aptitude.
David’s political career began in earnest in 2009 when he was first elected to the Montserrat parliament. He served as Parliamentary Secretary with responsibilities for Diaspora Affairs and Private Sector Development, bringing his unique blend of business acumen and public service experience to the role. In 2017, David’s political career reached new heights when he was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Land, Housing and the Environment.
