Glenville Daley

My name is Glenville Daley, also known to many as Autostar. I am proud to stand before you as a candidate in the upcoming election, representing the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM). My journey has always been about service to Montserrat, both at home and abroad. For me, helping my country transcends the idea of simply winning or losing an election. If I am elected but Montserrat and its people do not prosper, then I cannot consider myself a winner. My ultimate goal is for Montserrat to thrive, and for every citizen to experience the benefits of that success.
My career spans over 15 years of dedicated service in the Customs Department, where I worked as a senior customs officer and managed the ASYCUDA project. This role gave me valuable insight into the workings of government, and it strengthened my desire to see Montserrat grow. In addition to public service, I have spent the last 12 years building businesses, including Automotive Ltd., a retail enterprise, and GBAY Ltd., an online wholesale business. I also operate guest houses under the name Glenvilla. These experiences in both public service and entrepreneurship have equipped me with the skills and perspective needed to drive Montserrat’s development forward.
I am deeply grateful to the Honourable Paul Lewis for placing his trust in me as a candidate, and I also want to acknowledge the Honourable Donaldson Romeo for his wisdom in merging his party with the PDM. This act of unity and collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment to listening to the people and working together to make Montserrat great again.
As your representative, I see that Montserrat is at a critical crossroads. Over the years, we have faced challenges that stemmed from leaders who, after being elected, stopped listening to the people. These decisions often benefited only a few rather than the many. But I believe in a different path. When I joined the PDM Party, it was because of their unwavering commitment to putting the people first. This is not just a slogan, but a guiding principle that I stand by. It means ensuring that laws and policies are designed to directly benefit you—the citizens of Montserrat.
As your candidate, I pledge to be a leader who listens, who acts in your best interests, and who always puts people before politics. I will work relentlessly to create fair taxation policies, support our local businesses, and provide quality education for our children. Together, we can build a Montserrat where every citizen is valued and supported.
I understand the frustrations of those who may be considering leaving Montserrat; I once shared those feelings. But I chose to stay and fight for our country, and now I ask you to join me in this fight. We have the power to create a Montserrat we are all proud to call home. In this election, I ask for your vote—not just for me, but for a brighter future for all Montserratians. Together, let’s move Montserrat forward.
